Waimea-Kohala Airport (MUE)

Waimea-Kohala Airport is located 1 mile southwest of the town of Waimea in Hawaii County. The airport consists of a single runway and is used for interisland services. Pacific Wings is the only scheduled commercial airline to operates flights to and from Honolulu and Kahului. Waimea-Kohala Airport is a small airfield without any fueling facilities. There is also no air traffic control tower commissioned at the airport as yet. However, there are fire fighting facilities and aircraft rescue provisions at the airport’s maintenance facility. An average of 38 aircraft operations takes place during a week. The airport has a small terminal and is often served by air taxi operators as a base for their tours. Apart from scheduled flights, air taxi operators and general aviation make up most of the traffic at Waimea-Kohala Airport.
